Roussanou Monastery, also known as the Monastery of Saint Barbara, is one of the six active monasteries in Meteora, Greece. The monastery suffered damage over the centuries and was abandoned for a period before being restored and repopulated by nuns in the 1980s. Today, Roussanou is a vibrant nunnery, welcoming visitors to explore its beautifully preserved church, adorned with 16th-century frescoes. Alternatively, you can hire a taxi from Kalambaka for a more direct and flexible journey. If you have a car, you can drive to the base of the rock and then walk across the bridges to the monastery. Parking is available near the entrance.
